happy THREE years

Wiley is three! A lot has happened in a year and a lot still feels the same.

Her favorite color changed from pink to purple to blue. And could change again on a moments notice. She still has the same strong-will, sense of fairness, and quiet observant nature. But her hair has lightened and her skin has darkened in the summer sun. She is taller but not much heavier.  Now that she is three she is excited about getting to participate in classes like swimming, gymnastics, and soccer (because those are the ones she sees Blue doing). But her natural interests seem to run more toward art, music, and dance. She is not a good eater. Unless we are having spaghetti, cheesy noodles, or pizza she is not excited about dinner. But she will eat most fruits, yogurt, crackers (of course, what kid doesn't eat crackers!), beans, rice, sausage, bacon, and chicken if heavily encouraged. You will notice vegetables are completely missing from the list. She loves dresses, nail polish, lipstick, and accessories. She is girly but she has an edge to her, an assertiveness that keeps her from being overly sweet or high-maintenance. She can definitely take care of herself.

Blowing kisses

Her favorite thing to play is mom and Wiley with the roles reversed. Wiley's job of - sleeping, getting fed pancakes and spaghetti, being sick and resting - is a pretty good gig as far as I'm concerned. They play the same game at school amongst the girls but I don't think the kid and baby roles are quite as popular on the playground. They all want to be the grown-ups.

We are so lucky to have our sweet girl sandwiched in between our rowdy boys. For all of Blue's four-year-old complaining about not wanting to play with any girls, he is the first one to get lonely and start missing his best bud. Happiest of birthdays Wiley-girl!!!
