This is the very first thing I bought for the kid. Graham and I often take a walk through the neighborhood around dusk and our preferred route takes us by an owl sitting in his wooden owl box getting ready for the evening. It seemed like the perfect little print for the room.

My dad is working on refinishing an old dresser for the other side of the room but this area is mostly done. I found the bookshelf for $5 at a garage sale and sealed it up so the paint won't come flaking off in baby's mouth. The chair was $15 at Salvation Army and I had it recovered with $3/yard fabric. Believe it or not the light fixture was the most expensive item. The price is not brag-worthy so I will keep it to myself. But, hey, lighting is hard to do on the cheap. Which is why we hardly have any lamps in the house.

I am still on the lookout for the perfect rug (at the perfect price!) and am working on window coverings. I wish I could just leave them alone but they let in so much light and we need some privacy at night given this is the front of the house.
