bye bye PUPPS

Anyone out there remember me complaining about the horrible rash I got with Blue? I never posted a picture because it was so awful - just imagine a bright bright red itchy rash all over my big pregnant belly. Well it started to rear its ugly head again but this time I was ready for it. Absolutely no itching, no hot showers, and the real key, a concoction of herbal remedies and lots of water. The rash is nearly eradicated and in celebration I am sharing a bare belly pic!

bruise bruise GOOSE

In the course of the week, Blue has managed to injure himself three times. All in the exact same spot. First he fell off the couch. Then he ran into a low-lying bar on the playground. And then he woke up from his nap and managed to get another bonk before I could get in there to see what he was up to. Talent folks.

graham's garden BOUNTY

Everything but the chicken came from Graham's garden! Even the pesto is homemade! Apparently the zucchini was extra delicious...

our NEW view

So I had grand plans for this post - some nice before and after shots, everything cleaned up and looking its best, etc. But in the interest of actually getting something posted you will all have to settle for some quick iPhone shots. And then just come over and see it in person!

There is about 15' of gravel patio area right outside the backdoor before you reach the slope. Up top there is a little sitting area and Graham's veggie garden is in the raised cedar bed. Front yard to come...

loves his COLORS

Blue is waking up from his nap and the first sound I hear from his room is "Purple!" Followed by a little chuckle...

His other favorites: Orange, blue, and pink.

a BOY moment

Here is a classic boy moment for you all: laughing about "poots" and throwing his toys...

Note to self: Remember to turn phone sideways when taking video. Oh well.

movin' on UP

We have had Blue's new room semi-ready for what seems like months. It was lacking the all-important bedrail until this past Monday though. Graham and I went back and forth on whether to break in the new bed at nap time or night. We went with night - but I don't think it mattered - the kid is an easy sleeper. He wakes up and walks to the gate installed in the doorway and shouts/cries for me to come get him. Mornings have come a little earlier and naps have been a little shorter as he adjusts. Hopefully he can work it out. This morning was extra early although I guess it just meant extra truck time for him... Thanks for the truck sheets Lolly.

june or JULY?

Ashley snapped this pic of me two weeks ago during the Davis family reunion down in Wimberley...

My due date is July 1st but no one seems to think I will make it to July. Personally, I think everyone is forgetting just how big I got round one. Here is a quick reminder:

This was taken three days before my due date... Just saying.

iphone day ONE

I have upgraded from my ancient flip phone to a fancy new iPhone. It really is a whole new world. Mostly I am excited about being able to take pictures of the fun, little things that happen during the day. I am even writing this blog on the phone. I am not going to do a daily report but thought it would be fun to share day one with the phone.

Guess you can tell we spent a lot of time outside. And that I made pickles! For those of you who know me well, you are probably thinking, "that's weird". I like pickles but am more than happy to purchase my cucumbers pre-pickled. But Graham is out of town and his garden produced two cute little pickling cucumbers that couldn't be left to waste so the job fell to me. It was actually really easy. Did you know that cucumbers have little thorns on each one of those little humps?
