living the DREAM

Our house sits almost directly across the highway from Camp Mabry (a military installation that houses the headquarters of the Texas Military Forces). On the edge of the camp, right along the highway they have on display several jets, helicopters, and the like but the grounds are not usually open to civilians (I think they used to be before 9/11). However, they hosted on open house a couple weekends ago, so we high-tailed it over there to show Blue all the cool vehicles.

 

 

 

In addition to their usual display fixtures, they had an Apache helicopter, a Black Hawk, tons of armored tanks, several Vietnam era trucks, pony rides, and concession stands! The lines to sit in the pilot seats of the helicopters were too long for an 18 month old's patience but he was more than satisfied with the trucks. He was in heaven.
